As of the 1st of January 2019, South Africa's first-ever national minimum wage is in effect. Besides employers in South Africa, all attest and assurance staff must stay informed about the laws and regulations that affect their audit and independent review clients. 

Any non-compliance with the new National Minimum Wage Act might have far-reaching effects on employers and as such, auditors and independent reviewers must consider and report on this.
