Overview

Clients expect that you will act in their best interest.

It may be time to place your clients company under business rescue or even to liquadate to save whats left of their weatlh and move on.

But are you able to determine whether your client is financially distressed or factually insolvent? What do you do if this is the case? The Companies Act has specific provisions on business rescue and liquidation. Are you aware of these provisions and your obligations thereto?

As more and more companies become financially distressed, is business rescue an option to liquidation? The CIPC reports that by the end of June 2018, as many as 2953 business rescue proceedings had been started. These numbers are real and you must play your part in this arena.

On 15 August 2019, Louis Klopper CFO(SA) is presenting a webinar on business rescue and liquidation where he will discuss in detail whether to rehabilitate or to liquidate troubled businesses and more importantly, your role and responsibilities in the proceedings.
