Generative artificial intelligence tools offer significant efficiency gains in accounting and tax practices. As more professionals adopt these tools, it is increasingly important to carefully consider the ethical, legal and professional risks that can arise from poor oversight and judgment.
This webinar explores how generative AI is currently being used in practice, where things have gone wrong in real-world scenarios and why accountability always remains with the professional and not the technology.
Join Nestene Botha CA(SA) on 24 February 2026 from 10h00 to 12h00 as she unpacks the ethical responsibilities, legal implications and risk management considerations every tax accountant must understand when using generative AI.
Attending this webinar will equip you with the following skills:
Understand how generative AI is currently being used in tax practice and where professionals have encountered serious failures and consequences.
Identify your ethical and legal obligations when using AI, including accountability, confidentiality and professional judgement.
Recognise the key risks associated with using AI in tax work, including accuracy, compliance, data protection and reputational risks.
Gain practical guidance on how to mitigate AI-related risks through appropriate safeguards, review processes and responsible usage practices.
Be equipped with reliable resources and reference points to support ethical, compliant and informed use of AI in your professional work.
The webinar will cover the following topics:
Setting the Scene: AI in the Modern Tax Profession.
