On 13 August 2019, the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) issued Notice 52 of 2019 which instructed that all companies would have to declare their compliance status to specific sections of the Companies Act using the CIPC Compliance Checklist.
After an outcry from the professional community, the mandatory checklist was rolled back for SMEs and is now only required by independently reviewed and audited companies. Although the application of the Act is expected in the operation of every business, the reality is that the responsibility to keep business owners informed and accountable remains largely in the hands of professional accountants.
With InfoDocs, completing the Compliance Checklist is easier than ever before. We breakdown each section of the act into a question-based form that interprets the section and its dependant variables. The checklist results will be emailed to you with a summary in a "Yes, No or N/A" format with reasons for any non-compliance. The CIPC has informed the public that the checklist is there to stimulate the business community to take responsibility for their compliance by keeping them accountable, and InfoDocs' free tool empowers business owners and professionals to do so in the least amount of time and at minimal expense.
Join Christie Hollander, Company Secretary at InfoDocs, on 27 January 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as she demonstrates how to complete the CIPC Compliance Checklist in half the time using InfoDocs thereby saving you time and adding value.
