 About the presenters 

Willem Haarhoff CA(SA) 

Willem Haarhoff CA(SA) is co-founder of Doughgetters Accounting. Willem loves his family, interacting with people and doing beautiful digital business. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant a few months after the whole world had thought that the computers will switch off the lights. Fortunately this never happened and so he was able to complete 20 rewarding years at one of the Big Four accounting firms. He spent the last 11 of those 20 years as an expatriate in Lagos, Nigeria gaining invaluable experience and knowledge about how to develop, drive and execute business strategy. 

Willem returned to South Africa in 2014 doing some freelance work and in 2017 he co-founded DoughGetters Accounting™ with his current partner, Murray Barnetson. Together they seek to play a leading role in shaping the future of accounting in South Africa and the rest of the world.  

 

Carl Reader 

Carl Reader is chairman at multi-award winning accounting firm d&t and Head of Accounting (EMEA) at Practice Ignition. Carl serves as Chair of the Practitioner Panel at ACCA. He is widely recognised as a thought leader in the accounting profession, speaking globally to accountancy audiences about a range of topics. He has been recognised as one of the leading voices on social media by ICAEW, is regularly featured in the accounting press, and was formerly a member of the Accountancy Age 35 Under 35. 

 

Richard Minns 

Richard is a chirpy chap from the UK who now enjoys living in Cape Town, South Africa. Richard has been working within the IT services sector for over 20 years and is keen to use some of that knowledge to help small business become more tech savvy and operate as efficiently as possible. Richard likes to run, hike, row and walk. Oh, and he has a dog called Toast!
