Overview

Case law changes at a fairly rapid pace in South Africa. On a daily basis, judges deal with cases on socio-economic issues, fraudulent tender procedures, state capture, separation of power and so on. Keeping up with the variety, volume and complexity of cases becomes a huge task.

How does a law practitioner stay updated to these fast paced changes?

This webinar has the answer. We have a discussion of recent and topical cases in May 2021, how law practitioners can keep up to date with South African case law, as well as how to find past cases using online case repositories by LexisNexis and the Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII).

The LexisNexis platform has an index categorised into main topics with summaries and citations hyperlinking to the full court cases. Members receive a minimum of two cases daily as well as a summary.

Join Shebash Pillay, Managing Editor of LexisNexis Law Reports, and Louis Podbielski, LexisNexis Case Law Product Manager, on the 1st July 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as they discuss recent cases in May 2021 and show how to effectively use LexisNexis and SAFLII in order to stay updated to changes in South African case law.
