Independent review was introduced by the Companies Act, 2008 and Companies Regulations, 2011 as an alternative to the audit for certain types of larger Companies. The independent review can however also be performed as a voluntary engagement for smaller Companies, Close Corporations, Trusts, Schools, Partnerships and Sole Proprietors.
This will be especially useful if the entity is planning to obtain financing or obtaining additional shareholders or directors, or need to report to a stakeholder or board.
