Deon de Jager is an entrepreneur that knows success and failure in business. With more than 15 years’ experience in the clothing manufacturing environment, he brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the table. This, combined with years of experience as an instructor in various fields, his passion is to help SMME’s to understand how Aivor works, and to utilise it to maximise the success of their businesses.
The search for an application to help in the manufacturing environment started when he realised that it was impossible to keep track of production, inventory and costings. When they didn’t find a suitable one, he partnered with his lifelong friend, Anton, to develop Aivor. There were three parties involved. Anton, an accountant, told the development team what was needed on the back end. Deon, being a practical, to-the-point person ensured that the front end was simple and easy to understand and use.
Time and again he had to bring the team back from getting lost in all the accounting jargon and mathematical calculations and reminded them that Aivor is an application for SMME’s and had to be easy to use. The result was astounding, and like Deon loves to say, Aivor is like an iceberg, what you see, and use is only the part that sticks out above the water. What you get is a massive platform that is was built on but hides below the water.
