I started my career as a clerk in the office of the Registrar of Companies (now CIPC) in 1990 and moved on to join Dora du Plessis at Sekretari in 1995 as a junior Company Secretary.
I obtained a Certificate in Advanced Corporate Law at the Tshwane University of Technology in 1999 and a Certificate in Advanced Corporate and Securities Law from UNISA in 2013.
My knowledge of King III and King IV was maintained by attending presentations when available.
In September 2017, I accepted the appointment as director of Sekretari (Pty) Ltd, after being General Manager to the Company for several years.
I assist Dora du Plessis and the Secretariat team with all duties relating to Company Secretarial services, including drafting Agendas and minutes of meetings, preparing Board Packs, attending meetings and liaise with CIPC on a daily basis.
I’ve been responsible for in-house training on Company secretarial duties for our personnel and clients for 7 years and presented seminars and webinars with Dora du Plessis in conjunction with the Institute of Accounting and Commerce and 20/20 Innovation on the following subjects:
In 2017, I presented seminars and webinars in conjunction with SA Accounting Academy and has since stayed up to date with developments with regards to the Companies Act and Regulations as well as Corporate Governance.
I am constantly bettering myself by attending all seminars and webinars relating to Secretariat- and related services.
