Ethics is knowing the difference between what one has a right to do and what is right to do. The subject of ethics is split into three distinct areas that apply to one's personal space, business interactions, and professional behaviour.
The first area to look at involves the individual - personal ethics. It is important to take a pulse check with ourselves and become aware of where we stand as individuals before we look outward. This topic assists the individual to be able to reflect on his/her own personal ethics before looking outward. After all, the individual makes up the collective of the profession.
