SASA: Social Grant increases April 2025

Summary:
An increase for SASSA (South African Social Security Agency) grants came into effect on 1 April 2025.
Article:
Since the budget speech in March 2025, there have been 2 adjustments. The finalised grant increases this year include:
- Old age grant increase is R120 from R2190 to R2310 (and R2210 to R2330 for older people aged over 75 years)
- War veterans grant increase is R120 from R2190 to R2310
- Disability grant increase is R120 from R2190 to R2310
- Foster care grant increase is R70 from R1180 to R1250
- Care dependency grant increase is R120 from R2190 to R2310
- Child support grant increase is R30 from R530 to R560
- Top-Up to Child support grant increase is R10 from R270 to R280
- This brings the grant including top-up for double orphans from R800 to R840.
- The grant-in-aid increase is R30 from R530 to R560
The COVID-19 SRD Grant will remain unchanged at R370.
